Twelve animals, twelve blessings
Each Chinese New Year from 2012, Memorigin carved one animal of the zodiac into a tourbillon, drawing on Chinese painting, carving and proverb. In 2026, the Year of the Fire Horse, the Eight Steeds gallop again.
2012–2023
Twelve years to complete the circle
The series began with the Dragon in 2012 and added one animal every New Year. Each dial is carved in relief, and each animal carries a wish drawn from Chinese culture: wealth, a happy home, success on the road ahead. The Rabbit of 2023, the brand’s twelfth anniversary, completed the zodiac.
2012
The Dragon
Taken from a Qing-dynasty temple carving, The Carp Becomes a Dragon: a golden carp leaps from the waves as a ruby-eyed dragon rides the clouds, the tourbillon turning like a pearl beneath its talons. Its message: perseverance brings success.
2013
The Snake
Not fierce but gentle: a green snake dances through spring bamboo, its body curled into a lucky figure 8 for fortune. The strap is real snakeskin, so no two patterns are alike.

The Horse
The Horse takes its composition from the Eight Steeds, a subject Chinese painters have returned to for centuries. Eight horses glance back, chase one another or surge ahead, their muscles sculpted in fine relief. Sapphire markers shine like stars guiding the way: a wish for success the moment you arrive. For 2026, Memorigin revisits this classic.
2015
The Sheep
Three sheep stand on a summit above the clouds. In Chinese, “three sheep” sounds like the I Ching blessing of three yang bringing peace and prosperity. The faces were redrawn many times until each had a spirit of its own.
2016
The Monkey
Two lively monkeys among bamboo and peaches, for wisdom and good fortune.
2017
The Rooster
Long before clocks, the rooster’s crow told people the day had begun, binding it to time itself. Framed by bamboo, emblem of the gentleman, the carving took a year; even the insects on the leaves are there.
2018
The Dog
A dog stands proud in a forest, every trunk and leaf carved in relief.
2019
The Pig
In the character for home, 家, a pig sits beneath the roof. A plump paper-cut pig stands at an open door framed in noble lattice, while gold ingots and coins pour in around the tourbillon: wealth coming home.
2020
The Rat
Leader of the twelve, the rat stands for wit and vitality. Two gentle rats promise good things in pairs, flowers wish for a life fulfilled, and above a sea of clouds the sun is a copper coin.
2021
The Ox
Diligence and strength. A mighty ox surveys the world from a forested peak, a wish to rise ever higher in the year ahead, while gold ingots and coins gather beside the tourbillon.
2022
The Tiger
A tiger coming down the mountain: in Chinese lore, a scholar returning home in success. Behind it, evergreen pines for long life bear copper coins, turning them into money trees.
2023
The Rabbit
Two rabbits, one large and one small, run beneath the moon over ground strewn with gold: family reunion, harmony and prosperity. Released on Memorigin’s twelfth anniversary, it completed the circle.
