The Three Swordsmen Series

It is the 30th anniversary of The Three Swordsmen, the popular Hong Kong comics about martial heroes. Memorigin, the Hong Kong tourbillon watch brand that has been actively promoting the local culture, invited the famous comics artist, Fung Chi-ming Jack, to create The Three Swordsmen Series. Jack Fung drew one of the three main characters, Wang-to, Ming-kim, and Siu Sam-siu, on each of the mother-of-pearl dial with acrylic paint. The watches are unique and valuable.
It may be easy for Jack to draw on paper, but it became challenging when he needed to draw on the dial with 42mm diameter. ‘The area of the dial is too small that it takes me much effort to draw a vivid character on it, especially when it is my first time. I should be glad that I don’t need a magnifier.’ said Jack. As the dial is made of mother-of-pearl, Jack has to draw the face in accordance with its radian. ‘The details of the character have to match with various reflection of light to create a dreamy colorful effect.’ It takes one whole day for Jack to plan, sketch, and paint the drawing on the dial.
As Jack drew the character on each watch by himself, the quantity of the series is limited to 9 pieces only. The movement is carved with the wordings of ‘The Three Swordsmen 30th The Only One’. Meanwhile, to make the watch more connected to the comics, the minute and hour hands are in the shape of blade and sword. The tourbillon movement is equipped with 60 hours of power reserve, a stainless-steel watch case and an alligator strap. The Three Swordsmen series is a special collection.
