The Rise of MVP Charitable Tourbillon Watch Launch

At the 2026 Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, Memorigin unveiled the The Rise of MVP Charitable Tourbillon Watch, created in collaboration with Hong Kong professional basketball player Wong Lut Yiu. Bringing together the spirit of the basketball court, Wong’s personal journey and the artistry of tourbillon watchmaking, the timepiece transforms a story of perseverance and achievement into a distinctive limited-edition creation.

In 2014, Wong Lut Yiu took part in the “Nike Mission Rise 打出名堂” competition, where he received personal guidance from NBA legend LeBron James and went on to claim the championship. He later received personal coaching from Kobe Bryant during the Asian regional playoffs and was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in Asia. For this collaboration, Wong invited his wife, Anastasia Wan, to participate in the design process, translating these treasured chapters of his basketball journey and his tribute to legendary basketball stars into distinctive details throughout the timepiece.

The watch features an iconic fully openworked movement, echoing the vision of a point guard — the ability to read the court, see the game as a whole and take precise control of every play. The purple minute hand pays tribute to Kobe Bryant, while the personal shield emblem and dedicated jersey number on the dial embody an unwavering “never give up” spirit. At the centre of the design, a sculpted three-dimensional lion-head motif embodies the courage of a champion, while evoking the enduring spirit of Hong Kong beneath Lion Rock.

Beyond the wrist, the timepiece carries a meaningful commitment to the community. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Wong Tai Sin District Child Adolescent Development Fund, supporting the development of young basketball talent in the community through professional training equipment, competition opportunities, and basketball training camps led by Wong Lut Yiu himself. Through these initiatives, the collaboration seeks to nurture young talent and encourage aspiring athletes to pursue their basketball dreams.
