The globally anticipated rugby spectacle ignited intense excitement at Kai Tak Sports Park in mid-April. Over three days of competition, world-class athletes and thrilling encounters took centre stage, once again positioning Hong Kong as a focal point on the international rugby stage.

Memorigin has long been a supporter of local athletes and the development of sport in Hong Kong, continuously capturing the rhythm and power of athletic spirit through the art of watchmaking. Earlier, in collaboration with Hong Kong Rugby Sevens player Salom Yiu Kam Shing—who has participated in over seventy international tournaments—we unveiled the “Last Tango” rugby-themed tourbillon watch. The timepiece translates the speed, strength, and determination of the field into a precise mechanical expression.

The design details of the watch echo the spirit of rugby. The skeleton dial features an upright rugby ball as its central motif, while the silhouette of Hong Kong Stadium is positioned at the centre. At 12 o’clock, the iconic “H-shaped” goalpost structure is integrated into the visual language, extending even into the design of the hands. The dial markers further incorporate the four competition symbols—Cup, Plate, Bowl, and Shield—recreating legendary moments from over three decades of matches held at Hong Kong Stadium.

The brilliance of sport lies not only in a single moment on the field, but in the enduring pursuit of effort and belief. Much like fine watchmaking, it is shaped through time and refinement; and like the spirit of rugby, it is redefined through challenge and confrontation.
