Memorigin Supports the 2026 China & Greater Bay Area KamCha Competition

Memorigin is honoured to have sponsored the China & Greater Bay Area KamCha Competition for more than a decade. Since 2018, the brand has also been appointed as the Official Timekeeper, using precision timekeeping to mark the creation of each cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea, while witnessing the continued preservation and evolution of this uniquely Hong Kong intangible cultural heritage.

The 2026 competition, themed “Creative Intangible Cultural Heritage, New Perspectives on Milk Tea,” explores new possibilities for Hong Kong-style milk tea in the contemporary era while remaining rooted in its traditional craft. Earlier this year, Memorigin representatives attended the Hong Kong launch ceremony and preliminary competition, providing official timekeeping for the event. On 14 August, the Hong Kong Final was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Tea Fair. Eight finalists competed on stage, with Master 鐘煜培 emerging as the Hong Kong champion. In December, he will represent Hong Kong at the Greater Bay Area Grand Final in Guangzhou.

A cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea may appear simple, yet its creation demands an exacting understanding of time and technique. From blending and “pulling” the tea to precisely controlling the heat and brewing duration, every step calls for experience, concentration and meticulous precision.
