In the 5,000-year-long of Chinese history, the jade culture has been a part of it since the earliest days. Among all kinds of jade, Jadeite is especially significant as it fully embodies the Chinese civilization and virtues. Launching in 2019, the latest ‘Jadeite Peacock’ tourbillon watch has incorporated jadeite into the design to make it a traditionally elegant and beautiful accessory.
Peacocks symbolize luck, happiness, kindness, and splendor in Chinese culture; therefore, their feathers have been used to make various craftwork. The ‘Feminine Series: Jadeite Peacock’ tourbillon watch is inspired by the enchantment of peacocks displaying their tail feathers. The dial plate is made of the mother of pearl. With the decoration of thin crisscross metal carvings on it, the watch looks like a piece of soft and gentle feather. When the natural nacre is shined by sunlight, it reflects to give out different colors and the feather looks even more vibrant.
A piece of emerald-green jadeite is mosaiced at the center of the dial plate. Together with the 12 smaller jadeites around it as ornaments, they feature the ocelli on the tail feathers of peacocks and represent the colorful and lively moment as peacocks spread their tails. The authentic jades are of the highest quality, i.e. they are natural without being processed with any chemicals, so their colors are bright and even. The jadeites are cut and polished manually. It requires delicate craftsmanship to inlay the jadeites into the dial plate. About 459 pcs of VVS quality of diamonds that weigh approximately 3.38 carat are embedded into the watch. The tourbillon watch becomes classier and more exquisite with the shininess.
Memorigin has chosen the tourbillon which provides 72-hour power reserve with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Its accuracy and functionality have taken the watch further in addition to its gorgeous appearance.
