Honouring the MVP Spirit Through the Tourbillon

Sun Life has proudly title-sponsored the Sun Life Hong Kong Open Division Men's and Women's Basketball League, organised by the Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China with the aim of encouraging broader participation in basketball while fostering the continuous elevation of athletic performance and technical excellence. Memorigin, as a renowned Hong Kong tourbillon watch brand, has long been committed to supporting the development of local sports. In full support of this year’s league, Memorigin collaborated with the Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China to specially introduce the BAHKC Tourbillon Watch, presented to the recipients of the Men’s and Women’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards of this tournament.

The Sun Life Hong Kong Open Division Men's and Women's Basketball League 2025 concluded successfully at Southorn Stadium on 16 May 2026. In the women’s division, Heep Yunn School claimed the championship title, while Cheung Tsz Ki, who scored 17 points in the final, was named Women’s Most Valuable Player. In the men’s division, 香港桃源同鄉會 emerged victorious, with Ng Man Ho, who delivered 24 points in the final, earning the title of Men’s Most Valuable Player. Both awardees received the BAHKC Tourbillon Watch, with “MVP” engraved on the movement—an exceptional timepiece of commemorative significance.

The BAHKC Tourbillon Watch is crafted in silver-toned stainless steel, featuring a skeletonised dial with its centre designed in the form of clean basketball-inspired lines. At 12 o’clock rests the emblem of the Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China, while the markings at 3 and 9 o’clock draw inspiration from electronic basketball scoreboards, symbolising the competing teams’ scores and imbuing the design with deeper significance. The strap is accented with the association’s signature colours—blue and red stitching—further reinforcing the spirit of the theme.

At the heart of the timepiece beats a tourbillon movement composed of 155 components and 18 jewels, oscillating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 40-hour power reserve—an expression of refinement in both form and function. In its perpetual rotation, the tourbillon serves as a symbol of the Basketball Association of Hong Kong, China’s enduring commitment to promoting and advancing basketball in Hong Kong.
